MEET AAYUSH AILAWADI- Lawyer turned TV presenter, Producer and Content Creator.

Aayush Ailawadi, experienced different facets of media at an early age, courtesy his father, a revered Radio broadcaster, from the golden era of Radio Ceylon. As life progressed, Aayush’s attention was netted by computers. Despite being highly adept, he did not pursue it as a career choice, and it lingered on as a skill.

Amidst good grades and a host of career opportunities available to him, he chose law. Being a thrill seeker, it seemed like an option which looked interesting and challenging. Aayush avers the five years of law school were bittersweet for him. Law School was a time which was experientially rewarding, since he learnt from an array of people and their journeys. It was also a time when he kept oscillating between media, law and management career options.

For most of us, law school is a defining chapter in our book. The choices thereon, are all dedicated towards how to excel in the field of law. For Aaayush, however it was a different journey, despite getting into one of the premium law colleges, he did not put any pressure on himself or look at it as a path which had no coming back.

Instead, he had the courage and the insight to utilise his college years in identifying a career that excites him and could do justice to his calibre. Pursuing a degree in law also proved to be useful, he affirms that learning the law has helped him acquire imperative skillsets like due diligence, research, and even honed his gift of the gab.

Aayush is a known name in the Media Industry. He holds a mix bag of star-spangled work experience in print, television, radio, digital and OTT platforms. He has been associated with leading media houses like CNBC, Network 18, Bloombergquint and Star Tv. He has also interviewed lauded legal eagles like Soli Sohrabji, Fali.S.Nariman and Subramaniyam Swami. Aayush Ailawadi  is Editor: Technology & Anchor at the India Today Group. He is also the host of popular shows on TV and digital for the network.

You know he was made for this industry when he says “If you are having a chat with me on camera, I feel at home”.Despite all the attention, he believes humility is imperative. “One must leave their prejudices aside, so your audience can connect with you, think you are relatable, and through you they can relate to the guest.”

He clearly has miles to go, and is always thinking about how to get past the landmarks and milestones he has already achieved. Tune in to get a real perspective on the media and content space from someone who drives the content himself and has explored it all. “If you are not yourself people are not going to tune into you.” At the end of the day, he believes that media comes with recognition, an instant gratification, something that he missed when he was in and around the legal world. He also admits, “That is my job, I enjoy it. Definitely more than law!”.
